AHOSKIE, NC – Alice Hyatt Renner, age 87, passed away on January 5, 2017 at the Vidant Medical Center of Greenville, NC.

Mrs. Renner was born on March 22, 1929 to Joseph James and Thelma Barnes Hyatt Mitchell in Hertford County, NC. Alice was married to the love of her life for over 50 years before his death in 2001. She was the legacy of her family, with her grandchildren being the apple of her eye. Alice enjoyed spending time with her friends, reading, cooking, and singing in church. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. Alice will be deeply missed by all those that knew her.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Baldwin Renner.

Alice is survived by her three sons, Keith Renner and wife, Olena of Elizabeth City, NC, Rohn Renner of Rocky Mount, NC, and Barry Renner and wife, Gina of Atlanta, GA; her brother, Robert Hyatt and wife, Carolyn of Greenville, NC; four grandsons, Zack Renner of Charlotte, NC, Adam Renner of Greenville, Shane Renner of Rocky Mount, and Jackson Renner of Athens, GA; two granddaughters, Jenilee Katri and husband, Anthony of Charlotte, and Taylor Renner of Florida; and one great-grandson, Abrahm Renner of Charlotte.

A celebration of life memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 14, 2017 at 11:00 am at the First Baptist Church of Ahoskie, Ahoskie, NC, with Rev. Anita Thompson, officiating. The family will receive friends following the service in the church sanctuary.
