MLK Day March set for Jan. 16

AHOSKIE – The annual Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. March and Convocation will be held on Monday, Jan. 16.
The march will begin at 2 p.m. at the Ahoskie Police Station, located on West Main Street. The march will end at the United Methodist Church, where the annual tribute to the life and legacy of Dr. King will take place.
District Attorney Valerie Asbell will deliver the celebratory exhortation. The music ministry of Higher Ground Church and the Young Adult Praise Ministry and congregation of the New Ahoskie Baptist Church, Eastern Stars and Masons will be convocation participants.
The Unity in the Community Coalition and Ahoskie Mayor Pro-Tem C. David Stackhouse serve as the event “Dream Keepers.”
