District Shooting Champs

- Members of the Northeast Academy varsity and junior varsity shooting team won the District Championship last weekend in Rocky Mount. LASKER – Members of the Northeast Academy Shooting team won the District Championship last weekend at Rose Hill Plantation in Rocky Mount. NEA’s varsity finished first among 23 schools participating.
The Eagles’ team took first place in Archery, first place in Orienteering, first place in Shotgun, and second Place in 22-Rifle; enabling them to take first place overall.
Individual Award winners included Luke Baker, who took first place in Orienteering, and first place overall; while first place in Shotgun went to Josh Duncan.
The Northeast junior varsity team took first place in 22-Rifle, first place in Orienteering, second place in Archery, third place in Shotgun, and finished in second place overall. Gracie Baker captured first Place in Orienteering, while overall first place went to Everette Sumner.
Both the JV and Varsity will be competing in state competition at 4H Camp Millstone near Ellerbe on April 29.
