James W. Blythe

- AIRY, NC – Mr. James William Blythe, age 66, of Mt. Airy, NC passed away at his home on Saturday morning, May 6, 2017.
He was raised in Conway, NC and was born on October 8, 1950 to the late Joseph Lenford Blythe and the late Thelma Louise Aycock Blythe. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph Lewis Blythe.
He was a member of Stony Knoll United Methodist Church, and was a member of the Briarpatch Amateur Radio Club. He was a retired guidance counselor, and had worked in the Grayson County Public School System and the Yadkin County Public School System.
Surviving are his loving wife, Judy Coe Blythe of the home; daughter, Jamie Blythe of Winston-Salem, NC; son and daughter-in-law, David and Venida Blythe of Mt. Airy, NC; grandchildren, Kaesi Blythe and Jacob Blythe; and sister, Virginia Chitty of Ahoskie, NC.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 9, 2017 at Stony Knoll United Methodist Church, with burial to follow in the Church Cemetery. Rev. Jimmy Lawton will conduct the services.
The family received friends at Moody-Davis Funeral Home on Monday evening. The family has requested in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to the Stony Knoll United Methodist Building Fund, C/O Kay Crouse 105 Stratford Place, Dobson, NC 27017.
