MURFREESBORO – The Murfreesboro Chamber of Commerce announces that Nicola (Nick) Khouri has been selected as their new Executive Director. Khouri started in his new position on April 1.
“I am thrilled to have the opportunity to work for the Murfreesboro Chamber of Commerce, and to be the voice for businesses in the community. Bringing the businesses and people together so that everyone can be successful is my desire,” stated Khouri.
Khouri, is currently an Associate Director of Admissions and is the Co-Adviser of Chowan University International Students. He is a member of Murfreesboro Rotary International Service Organization and speaks three languages fluently: English, French and Arabic.
Identifying customer needs, overcoming obstacles and objections are just a few of his strong leadership skills. He is a very eventful man and will add so much to the chamber.
“We are excited about Nick taking the reins at the chamber. He has a great foundation to build on and we are looking forward to reaching new levels of service to the community and area businesses,” stated Brunet Parker, Murfreesboro Chamber of Commerce Board Chair. “The board is confident that being a collaborative leader, he will continue to take the chamber in the right direction.”
One Vision, One Mission, and One Goal. That is what Khouri has in mind for the town of Murfreesboro. A Chowan University graduate who has gotten to know the area first hand, he has seen the potential and charm the small town in Hertford County has to offer. Braving a new community and location, strives to promote the positive changes and growth he wants to see in the community.
Khouri values the personal relationships created with business owners as well as members. He wants to close the gap between community and its people to promote business and vitality within the town and surrounding counties.
He wants there to be a surplus of new members, to the Murfreesboro Chamber of Commerce, through the sharing available Intel of benefits offered by the chamber. By bringing this awareness there would be more activity within the local businesses, strengthening the same outreach that drew Khouri to this area seven years ago.
He wants to hear the voice of the people and put their ideas, and dreams into a plan of action. He vocalizes the greatest transition for him has been understanding the many diversities that every business and person has. This transition adds to the uniqueness of the chamber, blurring the line between corporate treatment and familiar partnership. Giving credit to the teamwork and supportive guidance of board directors, this task will not be a difficult feat.
