Wallace, Bracy exchange vows in Franklin, VA

FRANKLIN, VA – The marriage of Reba Courtney Wallace and Jonathan Luke Bracy took place at 4 p.m., Saturday May 13, 2017 on the grounds of the bride’s grandparents’ home in Franklin, VA.

The bride is the daughter of Lucy M. Wallace of Manteo and David L. Wallace of Tunis, NC. She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Allen Minetree of Franklin, VA and the late Ben Wallace of Tunis and Reba Wallace of Ahoskie.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Bracy of Raleigh. He the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. William Benton of Ahoskie, Inez Bracy of Ahoskie and the late Odie Bracy.

Rev. Steve Gibson of Franklin Baptist Church officiated the traditional ceremony.

Carolann Holland of Kill Devil Hills served as the maid-of-honor. Bridesmaids were Emma M. Horsley of Wilmington, Candace McMurran of Apex, and Megan Bracy of Raleigh.

Robert Bracy served as his son’s best man. Groomsmen were the groom’s brothers Ryan and Josh Bracy of Raleigh, and Tim Johnson of Corning, NY.

Miss Charlotte Key, cousin of the bride and daughter of Ashley Minetree Key and Nathan Key, of Houston, TX, was the flower girl, and Master Eli Arrington, cousin of the groom and son of Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Arrington of Garner, was the ring bearer.

The bride wore a full length, cream lace LuLu gown and the attendants wore shades of lavender and green.

A reception followed at the same location with food catered by Nothin’ Butt Fun Catering of Franklin, VA and music provided by DJSquirrel David Floyd, formerly of Franklin, who now resides in the Washington, DC area.

Ada Butler Photography took the official wedding photos and Flour Pot Cakery provided the wedding cake, which was cut by the bride’s aunt, Ann Shuler of Mebane, and the bride’s cousin, Ashley Key of Houston, TX.

The bride’s and attendants’ bouquets, boutonnieres, wedding accent flowers and reception centerpieces were provided by Cathy S. Mendola of Clayton. Beverages were provided by Carole Sykes of Nags Head and tended by Emily Payne and Greg Mader, both of Raleigh.

Berry B. Payne of Moyock, acted as mistress of ceremonies. Marbara W. Morris also assisted by providing potted flower arrangements at the reception.

The couple will reside in Raleigh and will honeymoon in England and Scotland at a later date.

Bachelorette weekend hosted by the maid-of-honor Carolann Holland in Asheville on the weekend of April 7-9.

Oyster Roast hosted by Mr. and Mrs. Robert Bracy at their river cottage in Tunis on March 4.
