B&E, assault case nets arrest

WOODLAND – A two-month-old case involving breaking-and-entering, assault with a deadly weapon and other crimes was solved here earlier this week with an arrest.
On Monday, the Northampton County Sheriff’s Office located and arrested 21-year-old Shameek Williams of Woodland.
Williams was arrested and served outstanding warrants for first degree burglary, conspiracy to commit breaking and entering, assault
with a deadly weapon inflicting serious bodily injury, two counts of first degree kidnapping, second degree kidnapping, assault inflicting serious bodily injury with minor present, three counts of assault by pointing a gun, possession of firearm by a felon, two counts of injury to personal property, felony larceny, and injury to real property.
This arrest was the result of an investigation by Northampton Sheriff’s Capt. Patrick Jacobs for a home invasion that occurred on July 25 on Griffintown Road, Woodland, where numerous items were stolen and several subjects assaulted.
Williams was jailed under a $705,000 secured bond and is scheduled to make his first appearance today (Thursday) in Northampton County District Court.
Northampton County Sheriff Jack Smith expressed thanks to Capt. Jacobs for his hard work and thorough investigation in this case for the home invasion.
“As a result of this investigation Capt. Patrick Jacobs was able to obtain warrants against Shameek Williams to bring justice for the
victims and get him off the streets,” Smith stated. “Our agency will go as far as we need to go to apprehend individuals and bring those responsible for crimes of this magnitude to justice. In an unrelated case, the Northampton Sheriff’s Office located 22-year-old Eric Vaughan Jr. of Woodland hiding in a residence.
Vaughan was arrested on Sept. 23 and served outstanding warrants for robbery with a dangerous weapon, assault with a deadly weapon, and assault on a handicapped person. These charges were linked to a case under investigation by the Rich Square Police Department.
Vaughan was jailed under a $250,000 secured bond. He was also served a parole violation warrant where he received no bond.
