JACKSON — Everyone loves a good mystery.

And next month you could solve a mystery of your own during a dinner theater held here.

Beginning at 5 p.m. on Saturday, April 2 the Jackson Women’s Club and Jackson Lions Club will present “The Hidden Hawaiian Heirloom” written by Janet Ench at the Lions Club building, 400 Atherton St. Tickets are required.

The murder mystery dinner theater will have participants watching performances by local actors and collecting clues to find a stolen heirloom. Prizes will be awarded.

Attendees are encouraged to dressed casual or Hawaiian style, as they take a “cruise ship” to Hawaii for an evening of entertainment and dine on a Hawaiian Luau inspired dish in a dinner hosted by a wealthy local.

“The last time we did it we heard people talking for months about it,” said Betty Bennett, Vice President of the Women’s Club. “It’s something that’s fun for everybody.”

Bennett said the Women’s Club was approached by the Jackson Lions Club that was looking to do a joint project and it was decided to hold a mystery theater event, similar to one that was held three years ago and was successful.

Besides offering fun to the audience, the dinner will also help various civic endeavors in the area.

“We give the money to benefit the community in some way,” said Bennett.

Bennett said the murder mystery event will raise money for various efforts, which include supporting the blind, visually impaired, the local library, museum, senior center, rescue squads and other various community services and projects.

Advanced purchase of tickets are required before April 1, as there will be limited seating.  Tickets purchased by March 23 will be $15 each and after that date up to April 1, tickets will be $20 each.
