Ahoskie Woman’s Club hosts luncheon and tour of homes

AHOSKIE – On Thursday, Dec. 14, the Ahoskie Woman’s Club will host its 2017 Fashion Show, Luncheon and Christmas Tour of Homes.
The Fashion Show and Luncheon tickets are $10 for eat in or carry out from 11:30 am until 1 p.m. at the Ahoskie Methodist Church fellowship hall on Church Street. Lunch includes chicken divan, congealed salad, vegetable, muffin, and pound cake. Tickets must be purchased in advance.
The Fashion Show will highlight White’s Dress Shoppe of Hertford, NC.
The Tour of Homes tickets are $15. Homes and businesses will open from 1-8 pm.
Tour stops include the Amy and Ken Braswell home, Wynnewood Farm, 1008 Hwy 11 South, Aulander; the Joanna and Matt Bradley home, 508 South Pembroke Avenue, Ahoskie; the Joshua O’Daughtery, Max O’Daughtery, and Demian Wilshire home, 1000 West Church Street, Ahoskie; and the Amy and Josh Roberts home, 107 Jernigan Swamp Road, Ahoskie.
Five businesses will also be featured on the tour from 1-8 pm.
The Ahoskie Chamber of Commerce will have local art, pottery, cookbooks, and gifts. The contributors are Ahoskie Chamber Women with new cookbooks; Katherine Allen’s children’s books; pottery by Jim Messer; and art by Debbie Rawls, Pat Daly, Nancy Perry, Claudia Morris, and Mary C. Pierce. The Jernigan House Bed and Breakfast will feature artist Penny Duke.
The Jernigan House is also celebrating its 100th anniversary.
A Home Garden Shop will have refreshments and a 25 percent discount on Christmas items.
McKeel’s Fine Jewelry offers 10 percent off purchases and will also feature refreshments, a drawing for a Bangle Bracelet, and a special Wine Sip and See after 6 p.m.
ACE Hardware & Gifts will have refreshments and 25 percent off gifts to exclude Yeti products.
Proceeds from the event support three annual student scholarships at Roanoke Chowan Community College and Chowan University, the Ahoskie Public Library, the Gallery Theatre, NC Boys and Girls Home, Relay for Life, Christian Women’s Job Corp, Ahoskie Chamber of Commerce, Easterseals, and the SAFE House.
In addition, the club hosts an annual Arts Festival at the Gallery Theatre celebrating the creativity of Hertford County students in our public and private schools.

Ahoskie Woman’s Club members Susan Joyner (252-209-7454) or Pat Byrd (252-209-4301) will have tour and lunch tickets available for purchase. Tour tickets will be available at each home on the tour. Lunch tickets must be purchased in advance.
