AHOSKIE – The sixth annual Jim Garrison Golf Tournament is slated for Friday, April 15.

The event will be held at Beechwood Country Club in Ahoskie.

“We invite everyone to be a part of this opportunity to spend a great afternoon playing golf and helping Chowan University athletics,” Chowan Athletic Director Dennis Helsel said. “It is always an enjoyable day and something we look forward to each year.

“This tournament was started six years ago by Coach Jim Garrison as a way to help fund football scholarships,” Helsel added. “It is a credit to him that after all his years of service, he wanted to give back to the university. Come out and help us support that cause.”

Registration for the tournament will take place from 10:30 – 11:45 a.m. with a shotgun start slated for 12 noon.

Lunch will be hotdogs with all the trimmings and a catered dinner from Whitley’s BBQ will be provided.

Awards for first, second and third place will be provided along with recognition for Closest to the Pint and Longest Drive.

Registration is $400 for a four-person team for the Superball tournament. The deadline for registration is April 8. (Registration form attached.)
