WINTON – Hertford County Department of Social Services Board recognized Brenda Allen on May 18 with a luncheon and a plaque for her dedicated 25 years of service.

Allen began her employment with Social Services as a Clerk Typist on September 11, 1993. She also worked as an Office Assistant III and IV and retired from Social Services as an Accounting Tech III.

Allen was very passionate about her duties. Officials with the agency and county truly appreciate her dedication.

Her retirement was effective May 22. County DSS officials said they truly thank her family for sharing her with her co-workers.

She is married to Curtis Allen and they have a daughter, Jessica Housley.

Brenda Allen was the daughter of the late Mary Louise Parker Harmon and the late Charlie Linwood Harmon.

“We will truly miss Brenda’s presence in the office. We wish her a happy, relaxing, and enjoyable retirement,” stated local DSS officials.
