Simmons retires from Hertford Co. DSS

WINTON – The Hertford County Department of Social Services recognized Glenda Simmons on Thursday, June 28, with a luncheon and a plaque for her dedicated 22 years of service.
Simmons began her employment with Social Services as a Social Worker I on August 26, 1996 and retired as the Social Worker III Supervisor of the Adult Protective Services Unit.
Her retirement was effective June 29, 2018.
Hertford County DSS officials said they truly appreciate Glenda’s dedication and years of service to the community. They thanked Glenda’s family for sharing her with them over the past 22 years.
Simmons has a daughter, Amanda Nichols, and four grandchildren, Angeliek, Giniya, Tazaria and Leela.
Simmons is the daughter of Ethel M. Ballance of Aulander.
“We will truly miss Glenda’s smile around the office. We wish her a happy, relaxing, and enjoyable retirement,” stated Hertford County Department of Social Services officials.
