Blanche V. Whitehead

NEWSOMS, VA – Blanche Vaughan Whitehead, 89, passed away September 22, 2018 in Courtland Health and Rehab Center.
Mrs. Whitehead was born in Murfreesboro, NC and was a longtime resident of Branchville. She was a daughter of the late Lee Roy Vaughan and Fannie Mae Cook Vaughan and was also predeceased by her husband, Warner Vann Whitehead, and three sons, Warner V. Whitehead, Jr., Wayne L. Whitehead and Robert V. Whitehead, and three brothers and three sisters.
Mrs. Whitehead was a graduate of Murfreesboro High School and a member of Branchville United Methodist Church.
Survivors include one daughter Beverly W. Stewart (John); one son, Gene Whitehead; five grandchildren, Warner V. Whitehead, III, Michael L. Whitehead, Adam E. Whitehead, Rachel R. Stewart and Jeremy W. Stewart; seven great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday September 25, 2018 in Wright Funeral Home, Boykins Chapel, with Pastor Penny Rasnake officiating. Burial will follow in Beechwood Cemetery. A reception will follow the service in the Boykins United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall.
