A short time later, Lt. Matt Roebuck observed a vehicle in the area occupied by Cecil White and attempted a traffic stop. Roebuck was able to peacefully take White into custody.

Several other Sheriff’s officers (Cpl. Colon, Deputy Malcolm Cherry, Sgt. Alvin Hendrix, Detective Ronald Rascoe and Sgt. Harris Williams) responded on the scene and assisted Lt. Roebuck with a search of the vehicle as well as its occupants.

A check by officers revealed White was wanted for a parole violation by NC Probation and Parole.

White is now being held without bond in the Bertie-Martin Regional Jail.
