AHOSKIE – Three individuals, to include a juvenile, face charges and a fourth person is sought in an early morning break-in and larceny on Aug. 12 at EZ Page, located on Main Street in Ahoskie.

Underier Stevenson Jr., age 21, of Ahoskie-Cofield Road, and 19-year-old Keyondez Trikell Brown of Hill Street, Ahoskie, were arrested later the same day for the crime.

They were charged with felony breaking and entering, felony larceny after breaking and entering, and felony conspiracy. Both remain in jail, each held under a $10,000 secured bond.

Ahoskie Police Chief Troy Fitzhugh said that a criminal petition has also been filed in the case against a 14-year-old juvenile.

Meanwhile, arrest warrants are on file for 21-year-old Devine S. Langford of Murfreesboro. He is wanted for the same charges as Stevenson and Brown.

Fitzhugh said the crime was reported at 2:27 a.m. on Aug. 12. Upon arrival of Ahoskie Police officers, they found the point of entry to be at the front door of the business.

“Entry was gained when a large rock was thrown through the glass door,” Fitzhugh said, adding that several items were reported stolen.

He continued by saying there is a possibility that others were involved in the crime.

“We will be following up on this case; there may be additional arrests,” Fitzhugh stated.

A similar crime occurred two days later (Aug. 14 shortly after 1 a.m.) at Verizon Wireless, located at 1314 East Memorial Drive in Ahoskie. Fitzhugh said the method of forced entry was the same as the incident at EZ Page.

“The front glass door was broken by a large rock; entry was made and several items were stolen,” Fitzhugh reported. “Our K-9 was able to track a scent across the street, but the trail went cold at that point. We are continuing to investigate this case.”

Then, just before daybreak on Friday morning (Aug. 16), a group of individuals was observed on the EZ Page property.

“We’re unsure at this point if another break-in was being planned for that location, but (APD) Captain (Michele) Garrett was on patrol and observed the individuals at that location,” Fitzhugh said. “As she approached them, they scattered on foot. She was able to stop two of the individuals, both juveniles. She obtained their personal information and drove them to their homes.”
