Linda B. Meeks

AULANDER, NC – Linda Baker Meeks, age 68, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 15, 2019 at her residence surrounded by her loving family.

Linda was born on December 26, 1950 to the late William Earl Baker, Sr. and Ruby Martin Baker in Ahoskie, NC. She was a graduate of Ahoskie High School and married the love of her life, William “Wayne” Meeks on September 27, 1970, and would have celebrated their 49th anniversary later this month. Linda was an active member of Center Grove Baptist Church, serving in many capacities such as, Women on Mission secretary and Sunday school teacher. She was a Godly woman that loved her Lord and her church.

Linda was an active member of the American Legion Post 102 Ladies Auxiliary, and instrumental at the S.A.F.E. House. She enjoyed taking care of her family, loving them dearly. Linda has always been an outstanding homemaker and caregiver. She was owner of Linda’s Tots and Toddlers where she loved and cared for extended children that continue a relationship today because of her compassion and care for them. Linda was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She especially loved her grandchildren and will be deeply missed by all that knew her.

Linda is survived by her devoted husband, Wayne; three daughters, Missy Roberson and husband Brad of Windsor, Allyson Meeks of Ahoskie, and Toni Meeks and friend Don Rowell of Ahoskie; nine grandchildren, Alysia Belch, Perry Byrum, Bray Roberson, Maddox Roberson, Katlyn Meeks, Haylee Griggs, Bryce Griggs, Daymon Wheeler, and Dillon Rowell; two sisters, Nancy Baker Conner of Glen Saint Mary, FL, and Mary Lou Baker Byrum and husband Mitch of Ahoskie; brother, Billy Baker and wife Judy of Ahoskie; six nieces; ten great nieces and nephews; along with a host of extended family and friends.

The family will receive friends, Tuesday, September 17, 2019, from 7:00 pm until 8:30 pm at Garrett-Sykes Funeral Service, Ahoskie, NC and other times at the home.

A celebration of life funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 18, 2019 at 11:00 am at Garrett-Sykes Funeral Service, Ahoskie, NC, with Rev. Roger Kiker and Rev. James Hutchinson, officiating. Burial will follow at Ahoskie Cemetery.
