To the Editor:

The Ahoskie Community and Youth Academy, located at the Ahoskie Recreation Center, would like to thank each and every one that came out to make our second annual Back to School Bash a great success.

Our staff would like to thank our Mayor, Weyling White and family, and our Sheriff, Dexter Hayes.

We thank our many sponsors: Enviva Pellets, O’Shane Ximines of the New York Giants, Sheriff Hayes, Kim Schwartz of Roanoke-Chowan Community Health Center, and Hertford County Commissioner Andre Lassiter.

We also thank Jessica Davis for a clothing drive.

Our volunteers also need to be thanked: Melba Valentine, Michelle Askew, Parica Keene, Sholanda Wiggins, and David Ashe, who provided the music.
