Local man is missing

GARYSBURG – The Northampton County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in locating a missing person.
On Dec. 30, Elmo Harrison Jr., age 62, of Garysburg left a residence in his hometown. He was driving a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee and hasn’t been seen since that time.
That vehicle was located the next day (Dec. 31) in Rocky Mount. It was found disabled on the shoulder of US Highway 64.
As of this date, no family members or law enforcement has been able to locate Harrison. He is described as a Black male, slender body build, approximately 5’9” tall, and weighing approximately 150 pounds. He was last seen wearing black pants and a black in color jacket with a Korean War patch.
Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Harrison or any information that can assist in this missing person investigation are encouraged to contact the Northampton County Sheriff’s Office at 252-534-2611. If this subject is located or seen in other jurisdictions, you are encouraged to contact the local law enforcement agency in addition to Northampton County Sheriff’s Office to assist with locating and returning Harrison back to his family.
