Missing man found deceased

WINDSOR – A local man who was reported missing earlier this week was found deceased this afternoon (Wednesday).
Bertie Sheriff Tyrone Ruffin said the body of 24-year-old Raquan Jamar Craig was found in the area of Pintail Drive in Windsor at around 1:21 p.m.
Ruffin said that while the investigation is ongoing into the cause of death, no foul play is expected.
“We are thankful that Craig’s body was found, but we are saddened that he was found under these circumstances,” Sheriff Ruffin said.
Ruffin added that Craig was reported missing on Sunday, Dec. 2. It was reported that Craig was last seen by his family at 1 p.m. that day.
The Sheriff said the initial investigation started on Sunday and through the course of the investigation it led to a search in the area of his residence and nearby bodies of water.
Ruffin thanked the agencies that assisted in the search, to include Bertie County Sheriff’s deputies and investigators, the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation, North Carolina State Highway Patrol, North Carolina Wildlife Commission officers, North Carolina Department of Public Safety, North Carolina Emergency Management Services, Bertie Emergency Management Services and EMS, Windsor Police Department, Windsor Fire Department, and Martin County Emergency Management Services.
