Ridgecroft’s varsity girls improved to 9-4 overall and 4-2 in league play with a 56-50 win at Albemarle School on Tuesday night.
The varsity boys meanwhile added another win to what has been an impressive season as the Rams hammered Albemarle, 89-31. Ridgecroft remains unbeaten (7-0) in the Tarheel Independent Conference while improving to 15-1 overall.
In Ahoskie on Tuesday night, the Hertford County varsity boys overcame a sluggish start to turn back visiting Pasquotank, 56-45.
The Bears improved to 13-3 overall and 8-1 in league play with the win.
Bertie High School hosted Riverside-Martin on Tuesday where the Falcons placed four in double figures in a 78-48 victory. Zy’Lee Bazemore (13 points), Tequan Holley (12), Zymiere Dempsey (10) and Jah’Kelvin Rascoe (10) led the Falcons. Bertie used the win to remain undefeated (9-0) in conference action while improving to 15-3 overall.
The Lady Falcons won their game, 38-35, to improve to 4-3 in conference play (4-10 overall).
Northeast Academy traveled to Pungo Christian Academy on Tuesday where the Eagles dropped both varsity games.
In girls action, the Lady Eagles got off to a slow start en route to a 49-22 setback. Hayes Hatcher scored a game-high 20 points for Northeast in the loss.
In the varsity boys game, Northeast came out on the short end of a 75-53 score. Chance Lassiter led the Eagles with 18 points.
NEA’s jayvee girls dropped a heartbreaking 35-34 loss. Arland Davis led the way for NEA with 25 points.
The jayvee boys won their game, 46-26, behind 15 points from Jake Parks and 10 from Camden White.
