AHOSKIE – Hertford County High School’s varsity boys ended the regular on their home court here Friday night where the Bears defeated Edenton-Holmes, 66-47.

The win wrapped up the Northeastern Coastal Conference regular season championship for the Bears who posted a 12-2 record in league play (18-4 overall).

The Bears will host #8 Pasquotank (1-13; 6-16) in Tuesday’s opening round of the conference tournament.

Hertford County’s varsity girls were handed a 51-46 setback vs. Edenton-Holmes in Friday’s regular season finale.

The Lady Bears finished the regular season in third place in the conference standings (9-5; 15-7 overall). They will have the opportunity to immediately avenge Friday night’s loss when the HCHS ladies host #6 Edenton-Holmes (7-7; 13-10) in Tuesday’s opening round of the conference tournament.

All winners (girls and boys) of Tuesday’s opening round games will advance to Wednesday’s tournament seimfinals that will be held at Northeastern High School in Elizabeth City.

The tournament championship games will be held Friday at the Hertford County High School gym. The varsity girls finale will tip-off at 6 pm followed by the varsity boys contest at 7:30 pm.
