Customers of the NCWorks Career Centers in the Rivers East region will have the opportunity to receive assistance outside of traditional hours beginning May 8.

The Centers’ hours will be as follows:

Bertie County NCWorks Career Center Satellite Office: Tuesdays 8:30 am – 5:30 pm, closed for lunch from 1:00 pm-1:30 pm. Virtual services are available on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays by texting the keyword ASSIST to 252-618-0606.

Hertford County NCWorks Career Center: Tuesday and Thursday 8:00 am – 6:00 pm, closed for lunch from 1:00 pm-1:30 pm; and closed Fridays. Virtual services are also available on Mondays and Wednesdays by texting the keyword ASSIST to 252-862-1257.

Workshops and hiring events will also take place during these nontraditional hours, which will be announced on the prospective center’s Facebook page.

Jennie Bowen, Workforce Development Director states, “By expanding our hours, we hope to reach individuals who may not be able to visit our center to receive assistance during our traditional hours. Our overall goal is to connect talent to jobs, and we hope these non-traditional summer hours create more opportunity for our job seeker and employer customers to connect.”

The extended summer hours are effective May 8 and continue through August 4.
