WELDON – An individual wanted by local law enforcement agencies was apprehended here last week.

Krystal Shaver of Aulander was wanted on outstanding warrants by the Bertie County Sheriff’s Office, and Gates County Sheriff’s Office.

In 2022, Bertie County Sheriff’s Office investigators identified Shaver as a suspect breaking into a residence in the Roxobel community. After warrants were obtained for her arrest, she fled from the area.

Gates County Sheriff Ray Campbell said that Shaver was wanted there for felony breaking and entering and felony larceny of a firearm.

On May 26, Detective Sergeant Jimmy Barmer and Sergeant W. Killian with the Northampton County Sheriff’s Office received information of Shaver’s whereabouts. Sgt. Barmer and Sgt. Killian met with deputies of the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office. They located Shaver at the New Yorker Motel in Weldon and took her into custody.
