Bertie Sheriff’s Office seizes weapons

WINDSOR – The Bertie County Sheriff’s Office has seized 10 guns off the streets so far this month. Four of those weapons have been seized since June 13.
Demetrius Elwood Worlds of Colerain was arrested June 13 for possessing a firearm by a convicted felon, assault by pointing a gun, and communicating threats. He was taken into custody when Sergeant K. Padgette, Deputy C. Lipscomb, and Lt. S. White stopped a vehicle on Capehart Church Road near Merry Hill.
On June 17, Sergeant D. Young stopped a vehicle for speeding and seized a concealed weapon from David Earl Holley of Roxobel.
Three days later (June 20), Investigator J. Price and Sergeant R. Blount stopped a vehicle and seized a firearm from Kevon Deonte Watford of Aulander. Watford was charged with possession of firearm by a convicted felon along with several drug charges.
On June 21, Sergeant D. Young stopped a vehicle for speeding 84 mph in a 55 mph zone and seized a concealed gun from Tracy Lamont Pugh of Margarettsville.
