JACKSON – The mother of a two-month-old child, who died last year under suspicious circumstances, has been charged in the infant’s death.
Monica Dailey, age 27, of Gaston was served arrest warrants last week by Northampton Sheriff’s deputies D. Williams and M. Deloatch.
The warrants, which were drawn on May 10 of this year, were served on Dailey while at her residence in Gaston. She is charged with one count of involuntary manslaughter and one count of felony child abuse.
Dailey was detained under a $175,000 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in Northampton County Criminal District Court on July 18 to answer the charges.
The warrants were the result of an investigation conducted by Sgt. W. Killian that began on May 12, 2022 where Dailey’s infant male child was reported deceased under suspicious circumstances. After a thorough investigation, Dailey was charged in the death of her infant child pertaining to severe child neglect.
