Bethel Assembly extends win streak to 12 matches

ASKEWVILLE – The Eagles of Bethel Assembly Christian Academy (BACA) are soaring high, improving to 12-0 overall and 7-0 in conference play after sweeping the Rock Church Lions in three straight sets on Monday, Sept. 18 at home.

The Eagles hard serving and the lack of the Lions ability to return the serves was the demise of the visitors in all three sets.
The Eagles serve contributors were junior Kaydee Beachboard, junior Lauren Taylor, sophomore Mallory Woodard, and senior Coleen Askew.
BACA averaged using only five servers per match, with the longest serve rally being seven points.
BACA’s journey started this season with two vigorous back-to-back non-conference games that went five sets in its favor against Bethel Christian in Hampton, VA and New Bern Christian Academy, followed by two conferences games that went 3-1 sets in favor of the Eagles.
To date, Ahoskie Christian School (ACS) is the only conference team that threatens the Eagles first place seeding, but BACA won the first time the two local teams met earlier in the season. ACS is currently ranked second and one game behind the Eagles in the NCCA 1A North Volleyball Conference.
ACS (12-1 overall) will have a chance to spoil the Eagles’ perfect record when the two teams meet on Monday, Sept. 25 in Ahoskie.
