WINDSOR – The Bertie County Sheriff’s Office is seeking a Greenville woman who allegedly aided in a shooting on Sept. 23 at the Duck Thru convenience store in Lewiston Woodville.
This morning (Friday), Bertie Sheriff Tyrone Ruffin said arrest warrants have been drawn for Ashley Brimage. She is wanted for felony accessory after the fact and felony aid and abet.
Ruffin asked those with information on Brimage’s whereabouts to contact their local law enforcement agency.
He added that the Bertie County Sheriff’s Office has also obtained more juvenile petitions in connection with that shooting.
To date, Zyreke Pugh, age 20 of Lewiston Woodville, has been arrested in the case. He is charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, discharging a firearm from within an enclosure to incite fear, and carrying a concealed gun.
Pugh was placed into the Bertie/Martin Regional Jail under $100,000 secured bond.
Ruffin added that one juvenile thus far has been taken into secure custody.
At the time of the shooting, there were multiple customers entering and exiting the store. Meanwhile, a gas tanker truck was unloading fuel.
Upon their arrival at the scene, Bertie deputies located several shell casings in the parking lot, evidence that there were individuals shooting at each other.
