Greensboro man arrested for Northampton armed robbery

GREENSBORO – The Greensboro Police have arrested a man there for a robbery/kidnapping crime in Northampton County in August of this year.
Jahsun Staton, age 19, of Greensboro stands charged with one count of robbery with a dangerous weapon, second degree kidnapping, conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon, assault by pointing a gun, injury to real property, and injury to personal property.
Those charges are in connection to the armed robbery of a store in the Garysburg area on Aug. 27. Money was taken in that robbery, but no one was injured, according to the Northampton Sheriff’s office.
Northampton Sheriff’s Detective Sgt. W. Killian obtained the arrest warrants on Oct. 2. The Greensboro Police served those warrants on Staton on Oct. 10. He was jailed under a $100,000 secured bond and is scheduled for a court appearance on Nov. 2 in Jackson.
Northampton Sheriff Jack Smith said this is an on-going investigation and more arrests are expected of other suspects involved in the armed robbery.
