AHOSKIE – Clergy, leaders of the community, business owners, parents, principals, and elected officials are invited to take part in Hertford County Victory March here Monday, Oct. 30.

The event will begin at 10 a.m. at the corner of Main Street and Carolina Avenue, ending at Southern Bank.

“We will march on the sidewalks if there is a small gathering,” stated Keith Urquhart, event organizer. “In the event that it is well attended with 80-100 people, Ahoskie Police Major Farmer and town officials will allow us to use the right side of the street and the participants will be escorted by police officers during the event.

Urquhart added that the purpose of the event is to hear highlights from elected officials’ successes and to hear from them how the public can help them advance their efforts.

“Pray for the well being of Hertford County’s citizens and that the will of God be established in our midst,” Urquhart said.
