Regional and local law enforcement agencies are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying an individual allegedly impersonating a North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission (NCWRC) Officer.
An incident occurred yesterday (Wednesday) in Bertie County.
“Recently we have had two instances of someone impersonating an officer and contacting the public,” said a member of the NCWRC Command Staff. “In both instances the individual has worn green pants/shirt and identified themselves as a Wildlife Officer investigating a report of trespassing.”
On Wednesday, the alleged impersonator was driving a green truck with yellow writing on the door.
There was a similar report last week (Dec. 22) in Perquimans.
“It is unclear if both instances are connected,” the NCWRC Command Staff member stated.
The individual sought is described as a white male that looked to be in his forties.
If anyone sees the truck, described earlier in this story, or has dealings with this individual, please contact the Bertie County Sheriff’s Office at 252-794-5330 or by contacting one of the following Wildlife Officers directly as listed below:
