Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

WINTON – On January 14, 2024, Bonnie Rose Blowe, treasured wife, mother, mema, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend, completed her earthly race while on a mission trip overseas with her beloved husband, Mike Blowe. She walked through the gates of heaven into the arms of her father William Rose, her sister Billie Jo Rose, and her two precious grandsons Ayden and Keeton Hawks.

Left to celebrate her life are her husband Mike; her daughters, Charli (or Charlotte when she was in trouble) Stanley and Christy (or Crystal when she was in trouble) Craig; her sons-in-law, Brian Stanley and Scott Craig; grandson, Matthew Stanley; mother, Mona Rose; sister, Kathy Dunlow; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Miss Bonnie, as she was called by everyone, loved to serve Jesus and her family. She had a servant’s heart and was a bright light in the lives of all who knew her. She was always looking for opportunities to be a blessing to those she encountered. Kindness and generosity were her default settings. She was a quiet strength and the calm in life’s storms for her loved ones. She never hesitated to offer a kind word, helping hand or prayer to anyone in need. Bonnie had a heart for missions and children, which began when she was just a teenager in the Acteens program. She helped with children’s ministries, children’s choirs and Operation Christmas Child. Though far from home at the time of her stroke, Bonnie’s gentle spirit still touched the hearts of strangers who encountered her in Doha, Qatar.

An avid music lover, Bonnie started playing piano as a child and continued to find peace in moving her fingers across the keys. Some of her own words bring comfort to her loved ones now: In the midst of trouble, He’s my rock. In the midst of trials, He’s my peace. In the midst of confusion, He’s my comfort. Lord you love me in the midst of these.

Wife, mother, Mema, daughter, sister, aunt, friend — Bonnie fulfilled many roles to many people. And she will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

A celebration of Bonnie’s life will be held on Saturday, January 27, 2024 at 10 a.m. at Carpenter’s Shop in Ahoskie, NC. The family will receive visitors in the Family Life Center at Carpenter’s Shop on Saturday, January 27, 2024 from 9 a.m., one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Ahoskie Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Ayden and Keeton’s Hope, a children’s home in Kenya, in her honor because of all the roles she played, we’re convinced that Mema was her favorite one.
