MURFREESBORO – The Chowan women’s basketball team flexed their muscle early in an 89-53 blowout win over Erskine in Conference Carolinas action here Saturday afternoon.

The Hawks took command quickly, jumping out to a 29-10 lead to start the contest.

Sydney Roberts led the charge with 18 points, while Meara Carter, Tynasia Bunting, and Desiree Askew tallied 12 points each.

The Hawks collected 21 steals and nine blocks defensively, leading to 39 points.

Chowan (12-8 overall and 12-4 in the conference) takes on Lees-McRae in the final home game of the regular season on Saturday, Feb. 24. Tip-off is slated for 2 pm with Senior Day festivities to occur before the contest.
