HCPS secures funds for infrastructure projects

WINTON – Hertford County Public Schools announces the successful approval of fund transfers from the NC Education Lottery.
These funds, allocated through the ADM Fund/Public School Building Capital Fund, the Needs-Based Lottery Fund, and/or the Repair and Renovation Lottery Fund, will support critical infrastructure projects in Hertford County.
The earmarked funds are as follows:
Hertford County High School – Roof Replacement Design: $45,000;
Hertford County High School – Replace Public Announcement/Intercom System: $250,000;
Bearfield Primary School – Post Commissioning – HVAC: $30,000; and
Bearfield Primary School – Asphalt Repair Driveways and Parking Lots: $350,000.
The total allocation for this month amounts to $675,000 with an additional $5,000 explicitly for the CS Brown School’s exterior concrete beam repair design.
Superintendent Dr. Jesse Pratt expressed enthusiasm for the approved funding.
“This grant will allow us to address critical infrastructure needs across our district, ensuring a safe and conducive learning environment for our students and staff. This investment is a testament to our commitment to excellence in education and the well-being of our school community,” stated Dr. Pratt.
