Taylor nets game winner as Hawks defeat Crusaders

TIGERVILLE, SC – The Chowan women’s lacrosse team held off the attack by North Greenville to net the game-winning goal with 86 seconds remaining to pick up an 11-10 road victory here Saturday in Conference Carolinas action.
Grace Taylor notched her fifth goal of the contest with 1:26 remaining as the Hawks were woman-down to net the game-winning goal.
North Greenville tallied a shot with 18 seconds remaining that was turned away by Ariel Johnson, who finished with 16 saves.
Charity Brown and Cameryn Barrow tallied two goals each. Victoria Brown added one goal and one assist. Sarai Sanders picked up one goal.
Chowan tallied four goals in the first and third quarters. The Hawks held off strong frames in the second and fourth by the Crusaders.
The win gave the Hawks (5-3 overall and 2-2 in league play) their most in a single-season since 2018.
Chowan hosts District of Columbia in non-conference action on Wednesday, March 27. Opening draw control is at 1 pm.
