COLERAIN – Christopher Shannon Jones, 53, of Morris Ford Rd., passed away suddenly on Wednesday, April 3, 2024 at his home.

Chris was born on April 15, 1970 to Wayland and Ellen Jones in Ahoskie, NC. Chris attended Fork Union Military Academy and graduated from Bertie High School. After attending East Carolina University, Chris received his associate degree in respiratory therapy from Edgecombe Community College. His love of music and the outdoors gave him great peace. Chris also enjoyed reading and relaxing on the front porch. He was loved by his family and will be greatly missed by his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Wayland Riddick Jones, Jr.

Left to cherish Chris’s memory is his mother, Ellen; his brother, Wayland Jones and wife Tammy of Rocky Mount; his sister, Caroline Kebschull and husband Bill of Manteo; and his nieces, Addie Jones, Madison Kebschull, and Malin Kebschull.

A celebration of life graveside service will be held on Saturday, April 6, 2024, at 11 a.m. at Highland Memorial Gardens, Ahoskie, NC, with Rev, Anita Thompson officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the cemetery.
