AHOSKIE – Victoria “Vicki” Denton Broglin, affectionately known as GiGi to her grandchildren, of Hall Siding Road, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 11, 2024 at the Vidant Inpatient Hospice in Greenville, NC surrounded by her family at the age of 53.

A native of Hertford County, Vicki was born on January 5, 1971 to Vernon Denton, Jr. and Linda Gayle White Moore in Ahoskie, NC. She was a loving wife, mother, GiGi, sister, and friend. Vicki was a graduate of Hertford County High School and received her teaching degree from Roanoke Chowan Community College. She loved her work as a teacher’s assistant at Bearfield Primary School. She was dedicated to the kids in the Hertford County school system and cherished her work family. Vicki enjoyed trips to the beach and was always intrigued with lighthouses. Above all she enjoyed being at home and taking care of her grandchildren. She was readily available to step in and do whatever was needed for them. Vicki was loved by her family deeply and will be greatly missed by all that knew her.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her second father, Dan Byrum, and a granddaughter, Skylar Butler.

Vicki is survived by her beloved husband of 32 years, James; her two daughters, Kristen Broglin Dilday (Patrick), and Kaitlyn Broglin Diego (Nicholas); three granddaughters, Aubree Farmer (her dad-Brandon Farmer), Madison Diego, and Maranda Diego; three grandsons, Ryan Diego, Owen Diego, and Henry Dilday; a sister, Janice Gayle Askew; step-sister, Lori Cooke; two nieces, Alyssa Askew, and Tegan Broglin; a nephew, Ashton Broglin; along with her cherished Bearfield family and friends.

The family will receive friends on Monday, April 15, 2024, from 6-7:30 p.m. at Garrett-Sykes Funeral Service, Ahoskie, NC, and other times at the home.

A celebration of life service will be held on Tuesday, April 16, 2024, at 4 p.m. at the Garrett-Sykes Funeral Service, Ahoskie, NC, with Pastor Greg Hurdle officiating. Burial will follow at Winton Baptist Church Cemetery, Winton, NC.
