AHOSKIE – Lloyd Wayne Conner, affectionately known as “Pork Chop,” peacefully passed away on April 26, 2024, at the age of 78 at Gates House in Gatesville, NC. He was born on November 24, 1945, in Bertie County.

Lloyd dedicated several years of his life to Maintenance Construction at BASF Chemical. He was a man who was never at a loss for words, enjoyed engaging conversations, cherished his chewing tobacco, and above all, adored his grandchildren.

In years past, Lloyd attended Mt. Tabor Baptist Church. He will be remembered for his love for family and his jovial spirit.

Lloyd is preceded in death by his father, Lloyd Conner; his mother, Sarah Conner; his wife, Linda Marie Conner; and his brothers, William Earl Conner and James Edward Conner.

He is survived by his son, Christopher (Stephanie) Conner of Murfreesboro, NC; grandson, Liam Blake Conner; granddaughter, Hartleigh Rose Conner, both of Murfreesboro, NC; sisters, Sarah Conner Turner of Colerain, NC, Peggy Conner Whitaker of Greenville, NC; and brother, David Ray (Sheila) Conner of Woodland, NC.

A memorial service to celebrate Lloyd’s life will be held on Sunday, May 5, 2024, at 2 p.m. at Meherrin Baptist Church with Rev. John Porter officiating. Following the service, friends and family are invited to gather in the fellowship hall of the church.
