AHOSKIE – Filing is now underway for one seat on the Hertford County Soil and Water Conservation District Board of Supervisors.

That seat, currently held by Stuart Pate Pierce, is for a four-year term.

The filing fee is $5.

Interested individuals will file with the Hertford County Board of Elections, located at 418 Everett Street, Suite A, in Ahoskie. Office hours are weekdays, 8:30 a.m. until 5 p.m.

The filing period ends at 12 noon on Friday, July 5.

Candidates whose notices of candidacy are accepted will be on the Hertford County ballot contest in the General Election set for Nov. 5.

Filing for two seats on the Hertford County Board of Education begins at 12 noon on Friday, July 5 and ends at 12 noon on Friday, Aug. 2.

The School Board seats available during the 2024 election cycle are currently held by J. Wendell Hall and Clarence (Eddie) Hall.

The filing fee is $5. Those wishing to file a notice of candidacy can do so at the Hertford County Board of Elections office.
