Perdue shooter held under one million dollar bond

LEWISTON WOODVILLE – An arrest has been made in a shooting that occurred yesterday (Friday) in the Perdue Farms parking lot.
Bertie Sheriff Tyrone Ruffin said that 44-year-old Makeka Keyon White of Pitt County was arrested this week. White is currently jailed in the in Pitt County Detention Center under a $1,000,000 bond on the charges of discharging a firearm from an enclosure, and go armed to the terror of people.
Ruffin said that around 10 a.m. on Friday, deputies with the Bertie County Sheriff’s Office responded to Perdue Farms near Lewiston Woodville in reference to someone shooting in the parking lot. While deputies were in route, they were advised of a suspect that left the scene in a Chevrolet Equinox possibly headed towards Pitt County.
When deputies arrived, they spoke with witnesses and watched surveillance videos to identify White as the suspect.
Through intelligence shared between law enforcement agencies, Pitt County Sheriff’s Office deputies were able to stop White and take her into custody.
