Post 102 to host Junior Legion Baseball Tournament

AHOSKIE – Ahoskie Post 102 will host the Area 1 Junior American Legion Baseball Tournament beginning Sunday, June 30.
The five-team, double-elimination tournament will be held at the Hertford County High School baseball field.
Participating teams are Ahoskie, Bear Grass, Beaufort County, Perquimans, and Wayne County.
There are two games scheduled for Sunday (2:30 pm and 5:30 pm); three games on Monday (2 pm, 4:30 pm, and 7 pm); two games on Tuesday (4 pm and 7 pm); and at least one game on Wednesday (5 pm). If necessary, a 7:30 pm game is scheduled for Wednesday.
The tournament winner advances to the North Carolina Junior Legion State Tournament scheduled for the second week of July in Goldsboro.
Single game admission at the Area 1 tournament is $10 for adults; and $8 for senior citizens (over age 60). Children ages 12-and-under are admitted free. Day passes are $12 for adults and $10 for senior citizens. Tournament passes (good for all games over the course of the four-day tournament) are $36.
No outside food is allowed. Concessions will be sold on site (hamburgers, hot dogs, corndogs, link sausage, chicken nuggets, barbecue sandwiches, French fries, candy, nachos, freeze pops, Gatorade, water, and soft drinks).
