WINTON – Hertford County Public Schools (HCPS) announces the appointment of Angelia G. Adediran as the Interim Chief Finance Officer and Glasher Robinson as the new Principal of Hertford County Early College High School.

With a career in executive roles within local and state government, Adediran brings experience to this new position. A Virginia native with roots in Roanoke Rapids, Adediran earned her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a minor in Management from Virginia State University and a Master of Divinity with honors from Virginia Union University.

Additionally, she is an alumna of the University of Virginia’s 2007 Sorensen Institute for Political Leaders Program and a Certified Public Manager through Virginia Commonwealth University in partnership with the Virginia Department of Human Resources.

Adediran has held several high-profile positions, including County Administrator in Virginia, Assistant City Manager of Finance and Administration in Florida, Budget Director for Chesapeake, VA, and Deputy Director Senior in Richmond, VA. Her extensive background in finance and administration has equipped her with the skills necessary to make a significant impact at HCPS.

“We know that with her expertise, Angelia will bring a wealth of knowledge to HCPS. Hertford County Public Schools is confident she will provide outstanding leadership and ensure the district’s continued financial health and growth,” stated Dr. Jesse J. Pratt, Superintendent of HCPS.

Robinson was named as the new Early College High School Principal at the Board of Education’s meeting on June 24.

Robinson brings a wealth of experience from her previous roles as an assistant principal at Dudley High School and Hairston Middle School in Greensboro. During her tenure, she supervised the Early College Academy Program at Dudley, managed the student services and exceptional children’s departments, oversaw Title I programs, and contributed to improving graduation rates. Her dedication to holistic student development was highlighted through her involvement in the 2024 Social Emotional Learning Community Day committee for Guilford County Schools.

Robinson’s career in education spans over a decade, beginning as a high school science teacher at the Middle College at Guilford Technical Community College in High Point.

She holds a bachelor’s degree in Biology from Elizabeth City State University, a master’s degree in Science Education from Georgia State University, and an Educational Leadership degree from High Point University (HPU). Robinson was a member of the inaugural cohort of the HPU Leadership Academy program and is pursuing a doctoral degree in Educational Leadership at HPU.

She is an active member of several professional organizations, including the North Carolina Association of Educators, Pi Lambda Theta, Delta Kappa Gamma International Society, and the North Carolina Science Leadership Association.

Dr. Pratt said he is thrilled to welcome Mrs. Robinson to HCPS and is confident that her extensive experience will drive continued progress at Hertford County Early College High School.
