AHOSKIE – Roanoke Chowan Community Health Center (RCCHC) hired an Interim CEO to lead its strategic growth initiatives that include a new dental program and expansion of its pediatric resident program.
LaShun Huntley began his duties at RCCHC on July 1.
“We are excited about the opportunities that new leadership brings,” said Deborah Morrison, Chair of the RCCHC Board of Directors. “Our organization strives to improve the lives of individuals and families by offering new and innovative approaches to health and wellness services.”
With over two decades of experience in executive leadership, community planning, fiscal management, and relationship building, Huntley is a seasoned health care professional who brings with him a wealth of knowledge in community health.
Most recently, he served for 13 years as CEO of United Health Centers, a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), located in Winston-Salem. During his tenure there, Huntley’s vision and leadership led the organization to grow from one to three centers, as well as a satellite office that provided healthcare for individuals experiencing homelessness. United Health Centers also expanded its practice into behavior health services, a dental program, and an on-site pharmacy, while securing multi-year, multimillion dollar grants from public, private, and government entities.
Huntley also has a background in volunteerism with several non-profit organizations, and he is a leader among FQHCs in North Carolina, having served six years on the Board of the North Carolina Community Health Center Association (NCCHCA), eventually serving as Board Chair.
“I look forward to working with stakeholders, community members, and local businesses as RCCHC continues to grow its footprint and provide care for the most vulnerable citizens in our community,” Huntley said.
Huntley possesses a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology from Winston-Salem State University, and a Master’s Degree in Health Administration (MHA) from Walden University.
