AHOSKIE – The ECU Health Roanoke-Chowan Hospital Medical Staff Scholarship Committee recently presented awards to two student recipients.

“Congratulations to the deserving students who were selected to receive the 9th annual medical staff scholarship this year,” said Dr. David Lingle, Chief of Staff at ECU Health Roanoke-Chowan Hospital. “Our scholarship program was established to recognize outstanding students who are accomplished academically and wish to pursue a career in the medical field.”

The scholarship was established in 2016 by the hospital medical staff under the direction of Dr. Lingle and Dr. Madhu Parmar and is funded by the medical staff.

This year’s recipients are Camryn Piland and Nicole El-Khoury. Camryn is a graduate of Gates County High School and will be attending the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, with plans to pursue a degree as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA). Nicole, who has a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Physiology from East Carolina University, will be receiving a postgraduate stipend and intends to further her career with a Doctorate in Osteopathic Medicine at Campbell University.
