RALEIGH – The NC Chamber named Representative Michael Wray a 2023-2024 Jobs Champion in its annual “How They Voted” report.
The report details state legislators’ voting records on bills identified as critical to preserving and enhancing North Carolina’s position in the global race for jobs.
Wray, who represents District 27 (Halifax, Northampton, Warren) in the North Carolina House of Representatives, was recognized as a Jobs Champion for voting with the Chamber’s Jobs Agenda at least 80 percent of the time during the 2023-2024 biennium of the North Carolina General Assembly.
“As we work to maintain our status as a top state for business, North Carolina’s job creators need to know which of our leaders are willing to act to keep us competitive,” said NC Chamber President and CEO Gary Salamido. “The bold leadership displayed by Representative Wray and other NC Chamber Jobs Champions in 2023 and 2024 will help our businesses continue to invest in North Carolina and its people.”
In response to this prestigious honor, Representative Wray stated, “It is an absolute privilege to be recognized as a Jobs Champion by the NC Chamber. Bringing jobs and investment to Halifax, Northampton, and Warren counties has been a top priority of mine, and I am proud of the progress we’ve made in creating economic opportunities for our communities.” Wray added, “These counties are full of potential, and I will continue working tirelessly to ensure that businesses have the support they need to grow and, thrive here, driving more jobs and brighter futures for all our residents.”
The NC Chamber commended Representative Wray’s commitment to standing up for job creators and particularly for his advocacy on issues that promote business-friendly policies. His work in supporting key legislation has directly contributed to enhancing the state’s competitive business climate.
