EURE – Robert Louis “Bob” Harrell, Jr., 68, of 1292 NC 137, Eure, NC passed away Sunday, October 20, 2024, in Sentara Obici Hospital, Suffolk, VA.

Mr. Harrell was born in Hertford County on September 24, 1956, and was the son of the late Robert Louis “Bobby”, Sr. and Dorothy Jean Harrell. A retired carpenter, he grew up in the fellowship of Cool Spring Baptist Church. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, but his true passion was fishing.

Surviving is his wife of 27 years, Judith Sherer “Judy” Harrell; a daughter, Christy Mattison of Winterville; a son, Jason Harrell of Barco; the mother of his children, Molly Adams of Chocowinity; two step-sons, David Dillon (Rachel) of Blackstone, VA and Brian Dillon (Hillary) of Fort Wayne, IN; three sisters, Bobbie Jean Wynns (Joe) of Lillington, Deborah Anne Forehand (Randy) of Suffolk, VA and Bonnie Lou Snyder (David) of Randleman; former sister-in-law, Pascale Corne of Gatesville; two brothers, Steven P. Harrell (Erika) of Edenton and Mark D. Harrell of Liberty; two grandchildren, Gabby Mattison and Jacob Harrell; a step-granddaughter, Jaelynn Allison; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

Funeral services will be held Friday, October 25, 2024 at 3 p.m. in Cool Spring Baptist Church and will be conducted by Pastor Brandon Davis. The burial will follow in the church cemetery. Friends may join the family Thursday, October 24, 2024 from 6-7:30 p.m. in Miller & Van Essendelft Funeral Home, 304 Main Street, Gatesville, and other times at the residence.
