AULANDER – An Aulander man, out on bond for a crime committed in August, was arrested yesterday (Thursday) after another brush with the law.
Rajohn Green Jr., age 26, is now charged with possession of firearm by convicted felon after shots were reportedly fired inside an Aulander business.
Bertie County Sheriff Tyrone Ruffin said that deputies were dispatched at 2:29 pm to the Aulander Grocery and Tobacco Store in reference to an altercation inside of the store that led to shots being fired.
Upon deputies arrival, Ruffin said they viewed surveillance cameras and identified Green as one of the individuals involved in the altercation. Green was taken into custody at a nearby residence.
This case is still under investigation as deputies and investigators are working to identify other individual involved.
No injuries were reported.
Green is confined at the Bertie/Martin Regional Jail under no bond.
In August of this year, Green was arrested for another incident in Aulander where he was charged for assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, kidnapping, robbery with a dangerous weapon, and possess firearm by a convicted felon.
He was out on bond for those charges.
Green is also on active probation for a previous criminal conviction, according to Ruffin.
