Four charged in weapons theft

AHOSKIE – Four Hertford County men have been arrested in connection with a January 2 break-in.
According to Hertford County Sheriff Juan Vaughan, four men from the Ahoskie area were arrested last week in connection with a break-in and larceny on Brantley Road.
The four men allegedly broke into a residence and stole six shotguns, two rifles, a crossbow and ammunition.
After an investigation by Hertford County Sheriff’s Investigator Dexter Hayes, the men were arrested and the crossbow was recovered.
Arrested were:
Brandon Scott Moore, 18, of Jernigan Airport Road – charged with felony larceny, felony conspiracy, second degree burglary, felony possession of stolen property and injury to personal property;
Durrell Lane, 20, of Thurston Lane – charged with second degree burglary, larceny after breaking and entering, possession of stolen property, injury to real property and felony conspiracy;
Justin Quinshawn Harrell, 19, of Hill Street – charged with felony larceny, possession of stolen property, second degree burglary, felony conspiracy and injury to personal property; and
Quayshaun D. Howington, 17, of North Maple Street – charged with second degree burglary, felony larceny and possession of stolen property.
The four men were placed in the Hertford County Detention Center, each under a $205,000 bond.
“Investigator Hayes did a great job with this case,” Sheriff Vaughan said. “We’re pleased to have made an arrest and recovered at least some of the property.”
