Senior night was a good one for Debbie Stotesbury.

Lawrence Academy’s lone volleyball senior was able to go out a winner during her last regular-season match in Merry Hill as her Lady Warriors rolled to a straight-set win Tuesday afternoon. Lawrence beat Pungo Christian Academy 25-18, 25-20 and 25-19.

“The girls were pumped up to win this match for Debbie on Senior Night against a much-improved Pungo team,” said Lawrence Head Coach Dr. Ed Clouse.

Stotesbury had a good outing on her Senior Day, recording five digs, three kills and four aces. Danielle Davis added six digs, five kills, two aces and two blocks for the Warriors and Jennifer White had five digs, five kills, four aces and two blocks.

Ashtyn Mizelle had six kills and six aces to go along with five digs for Lawrence and Shelby Zube added three aces and one kill. Taylor Sexton rounded out the offense with five aces.

Overall, the win improves Lawrence to 12-4 for the season. They finish Tarheel Independent Conference play with a 10-2 record and at least a share of the league title.
