Pauline Hall Johnson

ROXOBEL – Mrs. Pauline Hall Johnson, age 80, died at Bertie Memorial Hospital in Windsor on Friday, July 29, 2011. She was a native of Bertie County.
She was married to R.D. “Mack” Johnson in 1949 and they enjoyed sixty-two years of marriage. Mrs. Johnson was a faithful member of Sandy Run Baptist Church in Roxobel. She was a member of the WMU and in previous years, prior to failing health, participated in numerous functions and activities. Mrs. Johnson was a longtime employee at Cooper’s Market in Roxobel. She loved all types of sewing, enjoyed quilting, knitting and crocheting. Mrs. Johnson was an excellent cook and enjoyed sharing her gift with the community.
Preceding her in death are her mother and father, Pauline Acree Hall and Allie Hall; three sisters, Gwen Smith, Dorothy Outland and Wilma Morris; and two brothers, A.V. Hall, Jr. and Floyd Hall.
Mrs. Johnson is survived by her husband, Mack Johnson of the home; two daughters, Nancy Daughtry and her husband, Donald, of Rich Square and Amy Perry and her husband, Joey, of Smithfield, VA; one son, Donald “Don” Johnson and his wife, Debra, of Franklin, VA; and one sister, Ruth Dilday of Ahoskie. Also surviving are five grandchildren, Kelly Manning, Matthew Johnson, Aaron Johnson, Nicholas and Lauren Perry; and one great grandchild, Nathan Manning.
Funeral services were conducted on Sunday, July 31, 2011 at the Sandy Run Baptist Church in Roxobel with the Rev. H.C. Boschen officiating. The interment followed at the Roxobel-Kelford Cemetery in Roxobel.
