AULANDER – Golden Peanut used a seven-run fourth inning to defeat Millennium Styles here Monday.

The Golden Peanut Team won 10-5 in the Aulander Youth League’s 14-and-over girl’s softball league.

Taylor White pitched four innings for Golden Peanut, striking out one to pace her squad.

Offensively, Chelsie Malone was 2-for-2 with two runs scored for Golden Peanut while Brittany Hoggard was 1-for-2 with a run scored. Allie Rushing was 1-for-2 with two runs scored.

“The teams are evenly matched,” Golden Peanut coach David Howell said. “We had a good inning at the right time.”

Golden Peanut struck first in the game with a run in the top of the second, but Millennium Styles answered in their half of the same frame.

After Golden Peanut went ahead 3-1, Millennium scored again to cut it to 3-2 before the big fourth inning.

Brooke Stroud led Millennium Styles with a 2-for-2 performance at the plate followed by Jessica Mobley (1-for-2) and Kelly Cooke (1-for-1).

“We did hit very well,” Millennium Styles coach Joy Davenport said. “It was a good game overall.”

MWB Repairs n 16, Ricky’s Corner Shop n 4

MWB Repairs scored every inning enroute to a 16-4 win over Ricky’s Corner Shop in the 9-to-13 year-old boys division.

Clay Barmer was the winning pitcher, going all five innings and striking out seven.

Woody Lowe paced MWB offensively with a 2-for-5 day that included four runs. Caleb Hill was 1-for-1 and Nick Lassiter was 1-for-2.

Tyler Burden led Ricky’s Corner Shop with a 2-for-3 night at the plate. Matthew Weaver and Michael Scott were each 1-for-3.

Neo-Pods n 11, Millennium Civic Organization n 9

The Neo-Pods scored six times in the first and five in the second inning to defeat Millennium Civic Organization 11-9 in a Coach-Pitch game Tuesday.

Austin Burkett, Brandon Robertson and Daquan Wilson were all 2-for-2 for Northeastern Orthopedics. Roberson had a triple and Wilson a double.

“It was a good, close game,” Neo-Pods coach Mickey Roberson said. “The kids are hitting well.”

Sarah Lassiter and Kole Liverman paced Millennium Civic with 2-for-2 days at the plate while Desmond Overton was 1-for-2.

“We are improving,” Millennium Civic Organization coach Tommy Bracy said. “The team looked good tonight.”

Metal Tech n 13, ViQuest n 12

Metal Tech scored nine runs in the bottom of the third inning to score a 13-12 come-from-behind win over ViQuest in the 9-13 year-old girls softball league.

Ashley Burkett struck out six in leading Metal Tech to the victory.

Offensively, the team was led by Kaela White, who was 1-for-1, and Desiree Jones who checked in at 1-for-2.

“It was a good game,” Metal Tech coach Tracy Burkett said. “You can see the improvement.”

Brittany Parker led ViQuest with a 1-for-1 day while Sierra Jernigan and Brittany Davis were each 1-for-2.

“Walks hurt us tonight,” ViQuest coach Tommy Bracy said. “The team played hard and kept it close.”
